Re: Steam pressure gauges is there any interest in them?

I agree with fender on the range being extended. I think those gauges are absolutely amazing and I'd love to have two of you end up deciding to make them in quantities, one for the crab I'm building and one for my future ten wheeler. I've been trying to find ornate gauges scaled down from the full s...

Re: Looking for a turn-of-the-century Sand/Steam Dome castin

I'm actually a member of the Chula Vista Live Steamers and know who owns that engine. I'll give the club president a heads up so he can attempt to get ahold of the club member that owns that engine and he might be able to communicate with you directly on here.

Re: Cross Compound Air Compressor

Is yours full size drawings or scaled down? If so I'll send a pm if you can email them because I'm also looking to build the same compressor for my ten wheeler.

Re: Riveting

Awesome thank you for the help. Originally the ten wheeler was going to be my first steamer and so I have plans a slight few bits and pieces. Then I found out about the crab plans still existing so now I'm going to build that first to learn and hone my machinery skills. Also, I've never operated any...

Re: Riveting

@Gary_Armitstead that's a fantastic looking tender. Is that the version the ten wheeler gets because I can't tell between my plans from Allen and the website. More specifically the side sills on yours go most the way back which is the way my ten wheeler prototype is but I think allens don't go that ...

Re: New Allen Models website

I just coincidentally checked on your site before seeing this post and it looks great. I was happily surprised because the site is much more organized and informative on any and everything. i think it will greatly streamline the process for ordering parts.

Talk to Greg_lewis, he's building a ten wheeler based off the Virginia and trucker railroad. He could give you much better insight.

Re: Allen engine modifications

I don't hail from South Bay San Francisco but South Bay San Diego lol. Pictures would actually be great help. I'm trying to collect as much information and drawings as I can even though I don't have anything but the plans. I just want to make it smooth when I progress though building my ten wheeler.

Re: Allen engine modifications

To be honest, I'm very much a runner but it's hard to operate steamers when at a small club where all the steamers are personally owned so it's very rare I get to operate a steam engine as much as I really engine it. So I thought since the navy won't teach me to be an actual machinist mate, I'll lea...
