Re: How to clamp work....?

I.e., is there a long threaded rod of some sort Yea - there's a drawbar. And yea, I thought it was a little sketchy with the EM in the chuck, but it's taken everything I've thrown at it thus far - mostly cutting thin plate so I've been rolling with it... not knowing any other way really. I guess no...

Re: How to clamp work....?

Mount your work piece on 1-2-3" blocks to move it closer to spindle. Most mills by raising the table or dropping the head or both should allow the spindle to touch the table when extended. Table and head are stationary. It's a Bolton BT800. Looks like the bottom of the bit to the top of the table i...

How to clamp work....?

So I've recently acquired a clamping kit that fits my t-slot table. I broke it out and clamped down a piece of work and started to set up for my first mill cut - dropped the bit to line up and discovered that the bottom of the bit is 3" from the top of my work piece. Image attached. So yea, I'm not ...

Re: Sizing T-Slot Table for a BT800

So shaving down my current set to make a set that works is a no-go. The bolts on this set just barely fit in the grooves, if I try to screw them into anchor points they'll probably cut threads into the walls of the t-slots --- it's a very tight fit. If I take enough material off the anchor points th...

Re: Sizing T-Slot Table for a BT800

WAIT! You can buy the nuts and studs separately. Grizzly sells them. You may be able to find smaller nuts that fit your studs. Sounds like a much cheaper solution as the rest of the set it definitely usable! Thanks! Think I'll also look at shaving down the t-slot anchors in the set I bought, tonigh...

Re: Sizing T-Slot Table for a BT800

Ya got a mill ,make your own. Just do NOT tap all the way through !! While I appreciate the vote of confidence, and did actually have this inclination initially, I don't know that I quite have the tooling or the knowledge to do so just yet. I still have no clue how to cut threads on this machine as...

Re: Sizing T-Slot Table for a BT800

The problem I was running into was that the nuts that are supposed to be anchor points and slide into the t-slots are way too big, even though the all thread pieces were sized appropriately.

Sizing T-Slot Table for a BT800

Aight Fellas, I made the mistake of buying a t-slot table clamp down kit this weekend from a local on craigslist... get home and break it out, and find out that the kit I purchased doesn't fit my t-slot table. So now I'm trying to size my t-slot table so that I can find a clamping system that will w...
