Re: Formed cab roof angle 16 ga. steel

Outstanding work....

I agree with Jack's approach on the stationary front panel. Bob Reedy used this idea as well and it really allows all the access needed without getting into the mess of plumbing that pokes thru the front.

Cheers,

Re: Angry ANGUS

Hey Jack, I picked up the castings from John K at Friends. They really machined up swell as did the cylinders. I've been tied up wit spec'ing out a new ladder truck for the Fire Department these past weeks and my shop time has dropped to zero... We are about to order our new RIG and this should free...

Steve is alive and well! He and his son are still very active in our club and can be found running one of their fancy electric jobs and sometimes their Mikado at our meets.

Re: Alcohol Burner

Thank you all for the replies, RM, I like your design, are you using Stainless steel for Material? Please keep posting pictures as you progress, Thanks! Sure thing! Yes the base plate and burner tube plus the arch are all SS. The burner block or nozzle will be brass and I’ll Machine that next. Ther...

Re: Angry ANGUS

Cross posting my Alcohol burner pics. The real commentary on this is on the main forum post. This is as close as I can interpret to the Master Steve Bratina’s design that has been so successful is several of his 3/4” locomotives. I’m not done yet but I managed to get pretty far today. Cheers, RM htt...

Re: Alcohol Burner

Here’s the intake holes. These come out to roughly 75% of the flue area so I’m not sure if that’s too much or too little? Comments on that would be much appreciated. I need to make the burner block and wrap up the mount holes next but I’m done for the night.... Cheers, RM https://uploads.tapatalk-cd...
