15 inch RR near Lake Placid

John, I've heard a little bit about this railroad in NY. What details could you give us about its size and scope, how complete is it and how much is left to build. I understand the builder is sticking to as many prototype standards as possible and the trackwork is second to none. From what you can s...

NYC 15" gauge Hudsons

So, 6088 is still in the family. That's good to hear. Any plans for it to operate it will it remain in storage for the foreseeable future? How about the green twin to the 6088 that was owned by Bill Norred? I understand it went to NY State to a 15" gauge RR under construction up there. Any info on w...

Tim,

Great looking work. Congrats on it running so well at WF&P. So, will it be on to that neat Greenbrier, next, right?

Sincerely,

To all,

Does anyone know if David Moore still offers the castings for the PRR K4 Pacific in 1.5" scale?

Sincerely,

K-4 Insulation

Dave,

Does your boiler have insulation? If so, what is the material and what thickness did you use?

Beautiful work. Can't wait to see it under steam.

301 Half Hard SS

Phill,

Have you seen this material used in this application before? Any reason to believe it wouldn't be a good application?

301 Half Hard SS - Alternate leaf spring material?

Has anyone ever looked into the use of 301 Half Hard SS as leaf spring material for a steamer? Does anyone have access to the engineering characteristics of this material, in particular, the Young's Modulus?

Open to any input from those who might know!

Thanks in advance,

Doesn't Allen Models count?

Isn't Allen Models still around? Every engine of his design is a super runner and they can generally pull enough cars and passengers so a guy feels like his engine has some real umph! I know the Allen Mogul is about as common an engine as any LE design, but he's got to be about the most economical s...

Tender Trucks

Ronald,

Beautiful Commonwealth tender trucks. What is the locomotive you're building for these trucks to be used with?

Thanks,

What da you do with all them mills?

Alright, already! A guy who's built 8 locos posts a picture of his new mill but hasn't posted any photos, that I'm aware of, of what he builds with them!

I'm sure you make more than chips in your shop, Bill. C'mon, you're just teasing us, aren't you.

Fewer and fewer excuses, Andy

Andy,

See, now there's one less excuse to keep you from starting an H-8! You started the patterns for the drivers already!
