1" Scale Rail

I use the Real Trains/Riding Railkits stuff for the most part. They are both the same rail, but Riding Railkits sells it in the pre-fab track and Real Trains sells it as rail only. They use the same die because they both came from Jack Sessums' railroad, where I got my first rail before it was avail...

Good Luck!

Russell,

Good luck to you. From those of us who prefer 1" scale (and smaller), we really hope you the best. It's a tough business, but good supplies and great service can take you far.

BALL BEARINGS

I get mine at Big 5. That is a large sports store out here in Northern California, I'm not sure if they are national or not. They are just roller skate/roller blade ball bearings. The ID is about 3/8" and the OD is 5/8" (I think). They make the smoothest rolling wheel sets I have ever seen. Last tim...

It is Bob Crone that is the dealer. This became effective with the LALS Spring Meet in May. I rode behind the mogul with the family on Saturday and walked up the mountain division tunnel with no problem. It was a fine running lokie. He is planning on being at the Sacramento meet in two weeks with it...

The Rail Pup

We had an article on building a hand powered track car pretty close to what you are describing in the Winter 2006 issue of the Home Railway Journal. There are no springs on it, but that hasn't seemed to give anyone who has built one problems. It was designed by Rich Eaton (same guy who builds the Hu...

I won't to knock LE, as Clarke is moving the operation and think we should give the new owner the benefit of a fresh start. I will add that I just finshed a review of John's Yankee Shop castings for the 4-4-0. These were great castings and machined very well. I have had one reader send me a letter e...

Great news!

For those that do not know Bob, I have had the great priviledge of talking with him by phone and letter. He really is a great addition to this board and I think everyone will agree that he will be a joy to have here.

Welcome Bob!

NJLS Spring Meet

A nice touch also was taht I broght my 1" Maxitrak Congress out to run on their track and after a little adjustment it ran fine. Thanks to all there for a great meet! 2007 PLS Spring Meet Dates?

I am thinking of flying out to the Pennsylvania Live Seamers Spring Meet this year. I have a free plane ticket from my day job and need to use it before June 19, and thought this might make a fun little trip.

Can anyone tell me the dates for this year?
