Re: Model Steam Pressure Gauges

Hi Harlock, The next round of the larger pressure gauges are now in the works both in 300psig and 200psig ranges. As this is a spare time venture not sure exactally when they will be done. Hopefully within a few weeks. We are looking at and giving more thought on the duplex gauge. Do you think 150p...

Re: Model Steam Pressure Gauges

For all these air systems, Id love to see a miniature duplex gauge. But Im sure that would be quite the critter to squeeze together and get working. Yea even the full size Westinghouse test gauges are still a bit big for my 3" scale loco. There are some small duplex gauges made for automotive use b...

Re: Model Steam Pressure Gauges

The air system only goes to about 65 PSI on the pressure switch. I do plan to add a steam air compressor eventually which could change that equation, but for now 160 is too high. Especially on the application gauge, because most applications other than "stop right now" are at 8 - 18 PSI when braking...

Re: Model Steam Pressure Gauges

It appears the 3" gauges have sold out quickly. :) I have another friend who will buy one if they come back in stock.

Re: Model Steam Pressure Gauges

I passed on your 3" gauge to some people who might be interested. A 200 PSI gauge in that size would probably also do well.

I would buy two 1 1/2" gauges at 100 PSI for my air system. I'd like to replace the industrial gauges I have on there now, pictured.

Re: The 1

Y’know that brings up an interesting point, maybe I can drag it back into the Kozo category. Kozo’s books are so popular because they are complete instructionals: follow every step and you’ve learned how to machine while also producing an engine. They use common home shop tools to the point you cou...

Re: The 1" Kozo A3 that never was (a bit of a CAD rambling)

If you try again in Solidworks, might I suggest using a traditional set of part and assembly files, rather than a single multibody part. Then all your problems down the road will go away. You could probably still do dynamic scaling with tables if you really wanted to. The main issue with that in pra...

Accu-Tie switch build timelapse

Here's a 4K video showing the assembly of an Accu-Tie #7 switch kit. This one went together in 27 minutes. The first one will take you an hour, and then you get faster with practice. A more detailed step-by-step video is coming soon.
