Sheet metal milling

Hi! I'm cutting sheet metal (24 gauge steel) with a 1/8" end mill. The fixture is masonite under the sheet metal, screwed to the table top at the diagonals. There's a plunge cut, then sideways, which does work. I'm getting a lot of burrs that have to be filed off the resulting piece. Any quick tips ...

Steam is the best spring for a valve. Many of the other devices work that way.

Hi! If you get TNGen you can automatically create a thumbnail web page that rearranges the thumbnails depending on the size of the screen. All you do is point to the directory of original photos, and it creates the thumbnails and the required HTML. Copy it to the web server and voila! http://stefan....

My whistle valve is different than most, patterned off the Shraeder Shay whistle (the pull is reversed to clear the cab roof). If I disallowed all live steam vendors who were quirky, I'd have a short list indeed! :mrgreen: It's just that of all the vendor people I've dealt with, he was the nicest on the phone, never tried to steal my money like one vendor who will remain nameless and ships quick just like he says. 4 Stars!

weld a tube from the dome to the cab and position the gland inside the cab? Mine is in the cab, actually on the backhead, and I'm SO glad! All the other folks have to take their engine apart to replace the packing. In this detail photo of the OS backhead, the packing is behind the nut in a slot cut...

I've bought lots of stuff from Railroad Warehouse, talked with him a couple of times, never had a problem. He makes great stuff!

...not all couplers are compatible with one another. Have you actually EVER found a coupler that doesn't work with another? I certainly haven't, and I've coupled with lots of club cars all over the place. If you do find a coupler that doesn't work then have them fix it! :mrgreen: I've heard the sam...
