Common Pipe threads

I'm working on some piping on a small 1.5" scale locomotive. I looked at machined fitting from PM Research and they offer a variety of threads. Any suggestions on which threads are most common?

I would like to standardize/simplify with common thread sizes.

Please advise, Timmy

Matt, the one thing you did not address was the money you took for "future" magazines never delivered. Still waiting for my refund, Timmy

Re: Lubrication during assembly

Thanks for the advice. Along the same lines...what should I use (WD-40 has been mentioned).... I haven't painted yet and I'd like to use lubricants that will be easy to remove so it reduces the possibility of paint contamination ( I realize a thorough cleaning is necessary before painting). Would wa...

Lubrication during assembly

I'm putting my first steam locomotive together (RRSC 0-4-0) and I'm planning on running it air before assembly is complete and it runs on steam. Is it necessary to use some type of lubrication in the cylinders (iron with iron rings) and the axle driven water pump (brass pump body with rubber O ring ...
