Re: What do you think of this build video? Did he take a big risk?

Considering the obvious runnout on the drill, the holes probably should have been spotted first. An intermediate drill on something this diameter is not necessary unless size is absolutely critical, in which case finish it with a reamer or bore it. On that part of the frame, those are just bolt clea...

Re: Future considerations from EE

You can expect to see a variety of boiler checks and safeties available from EE in the future. The exact styles/variations will be announced when the designs are finalized. Again, these aren’t the only appliances I’m considering making. These are ONLY the items on which I was skeptical regarding via...

Re: Future considerations from EE

Again, there are some products in the queue that are obviously needed and are for sure going to be produced. But I want to hold off on announcing those until they’re further developed. These are items that I would like to make but it’s not as obvious to me that enough people want them to justify it....

Re: Future considerations from EE

The hardest part about these projects is deciding which version of an appliance to make. I have drawings for easily 20 different variations of the top check valve, and no matter which one I pick it will inevitably be the wrong one for someone’s engine. But ultimately I have to pick one and commit to...

Re: Future considerations from EE

Hi Anthony, As you know I am interested in 1.5" scale Nathan inspirator H-N-L and starter valves. Also the Nathan top mounted dual check valve. I would think a 3 feed Bulls Eye lubricator would be more ideal for 2.5" narrow gauge. Could use all these right now. Jeff Smith I agree regarding the 3 fe...

Future considerations from EE

First off, I have several products slated for the future that are definitely coming to EE's lineup, and those will be announced later as current projects wrap up. Those items are not in this list. The purpose of this post is to put out some things I am considering producing depending on interest. Pl...

Nathan 1918A's are in Production

Hi all, The 1918A injectors are finally in production. I've located a new foundry that cast some stunning samples for me, so I'm moving forward full bore with the 1918A's and also getting replacements made for the 2.5" Monitor injectors. This is also good news for those waiting for the Westinghouse ...

Nathan 1921 Starter Valve Upgrade Kit

If you’ve ordered a Nathan 1921 starter valve from me you should have received an email. If you have one of my valves and did not receive an email please let me know! I will be sending out upgrade kits next week with a Teflon O-ring and improved cap. The AFLAS o-rings, to my great surprise, disinteg...

Re: injector problem

From talking with Hoppercar, any potential issues with the check washer were addressed rather thoroughly. I told him what the clearance should be, and he confirmed it was right in that range. I really do believe something else was going on.

Re: injector problem

We spoke in detail over the phone about what he was observing and everything he had tried. It was my best guess that, if everything was clean and the internals were machined correctly (which knowing Barry I'm sure they were), there was probably some micro porosity in the body itself compromising the...
