Hey Chris,

It's just 1/2"x1/2"x1/8" hot roll angle. Pretty cheap and super easy to bend by hand to the radius curves I have. @25ft rad to make it thru that little double bend.

Rails are going down!

Ties are all set thru the curve. Time to lay the track.

The engine service area has fresh decking and a water supply established. The rail has been delivered and I have about 1/3 the total amount of ties ready to go.

I soaked the ties in this magic wood preservative and started fastening them in place with stainless screws. Fun fun! Hopefully I can start laying rail by next week.

Framework is complete. Now we need 90+ more ties and some angle iron for rails. Should be a hoot!

This will have 3.5" and 4.75". I might add a 4th rail to capture 2.5" gauge but I'm not sure if I want to deal with it. I have a 4-4-2 in 2.5" but I'm not sure if I'll go thru the ordeal of getting it ready to run.

Thanks Rob! It's only 60ft but it will feel like 60 miles to me... I just love having the locomotive fired up and listening to it dig in at the beginning of a run. I'm sure I'll have plenty of fun going back-n-forth. Wife thinks I'm nuts but that's probably correct on her part.
