Re: 2-6-2 Prairie at auction

Billy, good to hear from you on the board here. As to who you may have fired for from out of state, that was probably Andy Morrison. Andy used to come up from Tennessee a couple of times a year and lend a hand with an engineers license. Andy will be known to the live steam community via the Eagle Po...

Re: Steam outline powered by compressed air

Bill: Here's a video of it in operation. The guy running in the video is Dom Visconti who passed away just a couple of weeks after I took this video. Dom and I were partners on the locomotive with Dom providing the land, about 20 acres in south Jersey. After he pased away, his wife eventually put th...

Re: Steam outline powered by compressed air

Pam: Along with a good friend who has since passed away, I owned a small 1930 Porter “fireless cooker” which spent most of its life at Apache Powder in Arizona. From documentation we turned up, she would run for about 3 hours or so on a 150psi charge of water/steam. When it got down to 50 psi, the l...

Re: Eastern Live Steam Pioneers

Via google, for a little Eastern Shore (Maryland that is) steam activity, go to http://tuckahoesteam.org/index.html

Not much else pops up over there steam wise.

Re: Eastern Live Steam Pioneers

Not for nothing, but when I read the original post, and now being a part time Maryland resident, I thought of the eastern shore of Maryland, not the whole east coast. Easton, Maryland is on the eastern shore as they say down here. From what I can see of the area, its a whole other world over there. ...

Little Engines 1-1/2" Scale Pacific Drawings

Just wondering if anyone out there has a set of drawings for the Little Engines 1-1/2" scale Pacific that they no longer have a use for. Any assortment of drawings would be helpful.

Many thanks,

Re: The big ones sometimes get tested on compressed air too.

Having moved a 36 ton shay on air a couple of times I can say that a shay really doesn’t require much air to make it move. If I recall about 10 or 15psi on the boiler’s gauge would get it moving. In this case we just wanted to get the stack outside the shop door to fire it up. It was easier than sta...

Re: Cagney loco for sale on Ebay

Ebay has been notified by a well known Cagney collector. If it was any other Cagney it wouldn't be so darn easy to identify. The drivers and carousel horse are the give away. I went back and checked old emails and can piece this together as follows: 2005 - sold on ebay to new owner in Yucca Valley. ...

Re: Cagney loco for sale on Ebay

I would be very careful of this ebay listing. This is a unique Cagney when looking at details such as the drivers and steam dome as an example. It sold quite a few years ago on ebay (roughly 2005) and ended up in Yucca Valley, Ca. I looked at buying it just a few years ago from the Yucca Valley owne...

Re: what size rail will work for 15" gauge ?

I spoke to the guy in NY this week and he still had the rail. Seems like the best way to reach him is via text messages to his cell phone. I have a few additional pictures of the equipment to include the 16 trucks that he has. It all looks fairly crude, but this was apparently the Carolyn Road amuse...

Re: 15" guage 4-4-0 for sale on Ebay

I doubt its a Coffman. Comparing the cylinder block to my Coffman, this one is much different. If anything the Coffman block is small compared to the size of the locomotive. How the block is attached to the frame is different here as well. The stack looks too big here as well compared to a Coffman. ...
