I just had to replace an Accu-Rite scale because the read head carrier was broken. Person who originally set the scale up didn't align it properly. And yes, it has 5 bearings in it, all about .125" OD.

Re: Now where did I see that ???
I have one. I'll post pictures when I get home later today.
From what I have been told, only 5 of these were made. I only know of one other one which is at Train Mountain.

Re: Scalecoat paint
I had problems with getting paint from Minuteman as well. No communications, has a store about an hour from me, is never there. It took me 8 months to get my order. If it is going to take that long, at least let me know.
I wound up getting the paint color matched at my local hardware store.

Re: 24.0 volts, 1.32 pounds, and 7000 Horsepower!!!
For several years I worked at a place that made big chippers and grinders. The stationary units used 2, 600hp motors belted together. Even with soft starters, when these motors started you could hear the wires singing in the conduits. And yes, the lights would dim in the facilities.

Re: Investment Removal
At the investment casting foundry, sodium hydroxide (Draino) heated was used. Now, potassium hydroxide heated to 400 degs F is used. All in all, I would try to avoid the chemical processes, kind of nasty.
