Re: Ford Trimotor airplane

I was at EAA in Oshkosh and they were giving rides on a Ford 3 motor. Do not know how many they had flying.

Centrifugal pump. Self-priming?

I have a centrifugal pump of the type you find is pools and SPA.
Usually they are gravity primed, water is present all the times.

I wonder if they are able to self-prime from about 10"-12" above water level. Nice to now before buying and building the project.

Re: Elated!

Thank a conscious power designer (like I used to be) that placed four $0.45 MOV (metal oxide Varistor) to protect from just that situation.

Re: ANZANI Y

John you may be right about the atmospheric intake, I have some apprehension about that too. However, I mounted the engine on the lathe and driven it. I put a paper strip in front of the port, and it was flapping. The valves move with little finger pressure but is not a scientific test. Will see is ...

Re: ANZANI Y

The castings are no longer available, but I liked the engine so much I decided to try something above my skill level an hogged it out. Is hard to visualize the 3D part from the drawing and predicted many machining errors. So I made a complete mock up in wood where some feature could be glued on and ...

Re: Could an end mill be used for slab milling

Regarding Liveboard setup picture... I have a light mill; I case like that I have found it convenient to use the quill and use the End Mill as end mill, advancing the part each down stroke achieving a scalloped surface as rough in. Then finish cutting with the flutes advancing the part continuously ...
