Re: 48v battery chargers

Watts = Volts x Amps so Amps = Watts / Volts Batteries have a desired charging amperage. Check their specifications. Lead Acid batteries require a specific charging Voltage to keep the Amperage within acceptable limits, and not overcharge the battery. Smart chargers taper off the charge after reachi...

Re: Full Size Locomotive + Cars for Sale

That steam locomotive #7 appears to be part way through the required BIG boiler survey, judging by the X-Y patterns marking locations on the boiler to make ultrasonic thickness measurements. I wonder what condition that loco is actually in?
Quite an amazing survival.

Re: Left handed lathe, for lack of a better name

"...cross slide dial left of the carriage feed..."

I am having difficulty visualizing what this configuration is. That sounds like the normal setup I am familiar with.
Clarification please?
Thanks,

Re: How do I center this nut?

Copy the links and paste them on another window. Then the pics show up.

But I can't offer help because I don't understand specifically the problem described.
"the nut centered" how? Between the bolts?

Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

Feels good to have that functional detailing completed!
Looks good.

I copied the prototype handrails on the smokebox front.
They unplug at the top hand rail to make removal of the smokebox front simple.

I built both my steamers using that scale hardware, now offered by Godshalls.
Added build costs but excellent results.

Re: Left handed lathe, for lack of a better name

Sometime when videos are reposted online, they will be optically reversed so that copyright issues are "avoided."
Go back and look at any labels on those "left-handed" machines. Are the words & alphanumerics reversed?

Re: Northern 4-8-4 Build 3/4”

To use the tailstock for milling accurate depth pockets, I have chucked up the round stock I needed, faced it, milled the pocket, measured the pocket depth, and faced off material to the correct depth. Then parted the piece off.
