Re: Help identifying collets
They're lathe collets from the days when VN and Watham Watch were related and occupied the same building in Springfield, Ma. They've been discussed before, but likely on PM.

Re: Moving - How to do it?
I've seen moving truck ramps with 3000lbs and higher stenciled on the side, ideally you'd want the mill to get loaded via a liftgate and not a ramp. First step in a successful shop move is taking out the trash, that includes all the small scrap you thought was too good to discard, because....., well...

Re: What is it?
Unless you have steam radiators that need fixing or are a plumber by trade, it's pretty useless. Would be headed out to the trash in my shop.

Re: Metal cutting bandsaw, Buffalo make
pictures?? Generic 7x12 saw, let me guess the name plate is glued on not riveted on? Sounds like the product of another far east company that has co-opted a company or city name in America. Like Pittsburgh Forge, Chicago Electric, etc. I seriously doubt that it's the product of the company that made...

Re: What is it?
Sure it's copper and not cast? Looks like a radiator spud (internal pipe wrench, sort of) for removing steam valves, etc. from cast iron radiators.

Re: Never enough time
I have taken to using 'mechanic ina can' type stuff, namely Seafoam, for periodic treatments of the fuel systems of my in srevice vehicles, and so far I have not suffered any ill effects that I can measure. Are you suggesting that a can of Seafoam in the tank might be the cure to the clogged inject...

Re: Never enough time
One great thing is local gas is now $1.42, with a Speedway nearby at $1.27. Never thought I would see those prices again. I've given up on spot-market and other low-end cheap gas stations. Too many problems with the fuel injectors in my truck. $240 in parts and labor @97/hr. isn't worth the saving ...

Re: Never enough time
as the breakers are a very old punch style, i have not seen before. running the furnace, it tripped the breaker with normal operations in 20 minutes. ITE Bulldog Push-a-Matic No longer made, but available for around $35+ as a re-manufactured breaker. Might still find one at HomeDee, but may have be...

Re: Heat treating collets
These are toolholding not workholding collets. Import 5V collets and endmill holders used to be available from tools-for-cheap, however when he sold through his supply that was the end. While an unhardened collet isn't "proper" and could suffer an accuracy reducing ding, for home shop or o...

Re: Never enough time
How much cold can full grown chickens take in an enclosed space? Do they huddle together for warmth? Do they just freeze to death, sitting alone on their nest boxes? Do you have to bring in heat or brooder lamps once the temperature drop below a certain level? Do you seal up your houses at night?
