Re: 1" scale construction equipment

I don't know if you are wanting to ad hear strictly to 1" scale (1:12), Ertl has a 1:16 line of tractors that they sell, I believe they have some skidders and construction equipment as well (There is a gentleman at our club who pulls a half size tractor on his 1 1/2" train... But the kids ...

Re: Power Mig 300 Questions

I intend to use the PM 300 for a variety of projects, but one in particular is welding auto sheet metal. Is the PM 300 a good choice for this? Seems the pulse feature would be nice for this. I also saw it has a feature for doing numerous plug welds where touching the trigger turn on the machine for...

Re: Help identify a welder

I would consider this an industrial machine well suited for a fab shop. I did not read the manual, but I skimmed through it, it has some interesting features and claims to fame. It would be interesting to see how well it burns wire and if it lives up to it's claims! According to the literature it ha...

Re: Removing large amounts of material - best way??

To those that have experience doing work like this: I am starting this thought with the assumption that there is likely more internal stresses in a shape like angle iron than flat stock. Given the two options for material for this project, either flat stock or angle iron, (I don't think the method o...

Re: UPS Cost

For the getcha factor, have a parcel shipped to Canada UPS. Minimum $50 brokerage fees, no matter how cheap the package is. USPS and it might be $5 if anything. Greg I refuse to deal with vendors that will not ship USPS for that very reason. In my ebay searches I sort the results by lowest price in...

Shovel the snow off to prevent collapse, and be careful doing it! If you don't want to climb on the roof maybe look at buying or making something to do it from the ground. This may help get the thoughts flowing: http://avalanche-snow.com

Re: A champion is born.

With the caps fitted as shown, seems like TIG would be a good choice. Comments? Harold TIG certainly would be a good choice. With the caps fitted as they appear in the picture, one may have been able to weld the caps without the addition of filler metal. One of the big advantages with TIG is no col...

Oh ,, and I drown them in water to check for leaks. There always are leaks cause I not as good of a welder as some my choo choo friends. I can not comment on your ability as a welder, but I can comment on the tendencies of welding with a wire feed machine. If your leaks are at your starts and stops ...

Re: HUNSLET QUARRY ENGINE BUILD

In the picture entitled 'sight installed', the water level in the picture is very well defined by the change in direction of the lines. Is that how it appears in person as well?
