A small amount of oil does help, but they seal nicely at my test pressure of 50psi and will disconnect readily if you pull on them whether pressurized or not. My intention ...

Re: Allen Models raise prices

Sorry to hear prices are rising, but if your costs have risen you can't help but to pass it on.

Re: Places or people to visit in Germany in February

If you can manage the distance, the museum in Sinsheim is well worth the trip. https://sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en/ Is isn't strictly steam, but there is a lot of steam there - and it is INDOORS, which can be important in February. If you are any type of a gearhead, it is a no-brainer... Funny, I...

Re: Carbide Insert Speeds and Feeds

https://littlemachineshop.com/mobile/speeds_feeds.php I don't claim to be an expert, but I have found that calculator handy for getting a starting point. Choosing turning alloy steel 3" diameter gives 890rpm. I use CCMT/CCGT style 21.5x in a 10" bench lathe - works well for quickly turning...

Re: getting endmills sharpened...

I suspect if they're HSS, it would be relatively easy to use the shank portion as a round lathe tool after a bit of grinding.
