IMO.... the new Hitachi WJ200 series is way ahead of anything else similar. For general purpose use buy a 2.2kw unit (3 or 4hp depending on useage). Just an FYI, if you're powering the VFD with single phase input and it's a 3-phase input model then you need to derate the output by 50%. Oh, and you definitely do not need that $40 switch from Digi-Key. I like using the 3-wire control wiring scheme and that's what I've used on my mill and lathe.

Enco's variant might be better as well, it's sure priced "better". LOL, I was looking at that one too...who knows? I know, because I own one. :D It's a great saw that was made in Taiwan. I looked at the HF, the Northern Tools and the Jet version of these saws and I ended up buying the one...
