Doug, your information on how much was rebuilt (for tax reasons) makes a lot of sense to me. I've studied P1 and P4 photos and you can see the heritage, but they are really different engines. That makes sense. I tried to post these photos and video clip earlier, so if two posts show up then chock it...

Thanks for the info. Robert, since they lasted into the 50's, did they see branch line, freight service, etc? Does anyone know where they operated, by chance did any run in Texas?
