Re: For Sale 7.5" gauge Lucky 7

Got it running today...oiled everything and pressurized the boiler. It ran on 20 psi or less

For Sale 7.5" gauge Lucky 7 ****SOLD****

This is a 7.5” gauge Lucky 7 designed by Don Young. The construction was serialized in Live Steam magazine starting in 1977. My dad and I started it soon after that and I did the machine work on the frames and drivers and axles and a few other parts. Over the next dozen plus years my dad worked on i...

Re: Lathe size

I too missed you had a CNC mill, and now with your explanation the CNC lathe sounds appropriate! Keep us updated with progress please!

Re: Lathe size

What are planning on doing with the CNC lathe? Live steam parts? Because they aren't very many parts on a locomotive that make a night and day difference with using CNC. Wheels are an obvious exception. If you are planning on CNC I would save my $ for a CNC mill. However I would spend the extra mone...

Re: Trailing truck

Take a look here...the same trailing truck design was used on the first Berkshires as well. There were numerous problems with the design and it was not repeated by Lima.

Re: Allen Models Consolidation - New Tender Questions

I recently received a tender kit for my A5 Camelback from Locoparts. To say I was impressed is a gross understatement. The quality and completeness of the kit is outstanding. This kit will save many, many, many hours of work. Additionally it is of a quality I would not be able to achieve, especially...

Re: Reccomended printer/plotter?

Thanks guys, this gives me something to go on...Rich, my Epson's biggest problem is connectivity, its wifi and is TERRIBLE. That said when it did print the color quality was more than adequate. But after so much trouble with it I will never buy another Epson.

Reccomended printer/plotter?

I'd like to get a printer/plotter. What a huge array of different options out there! I bought a Epson one a few years back, it could do photo quality as well as feed on a roll. This was a great printer...for the maybe 10 times it worked without a problem. When someone asked on Amazon what I thought ...
