Re: Motorcycle lift manual to air operated
The ones I have seen/used the air just takes the place of the hand pump, you still have to use the bleed valve to lower the jack. There is a check valve between the pump and the cylinder, this check valve is bypassed by the bleeder valve to let the cylinder retract.

In two stroke engines the racers will go with exhaust port widths up to 60-70% of the bore.
I have a copy of Lima's standards, don't know if there is anything in it about this but I will look tonight.

Your post reminded me of a saying I heard about musicians but it can be applied to any skilled endeavor.

They are not very expensive and have many features that are handy , at least for me. The one I use is ...

Look at woodruff key cutters. McMaster has a 3/64 (0.047)thick 0.5 dia. Don't know if that is close enough for you application or not. I have taken woodruff key cutters and ground the thickness to what was required on a surface grinder. Clamp them in a v block in the vertical position and grind as r...

Re: Thread Milling
I have done thread milling pretty much like Rich stated above. Done both with CAM (G-code) and by conversational programming on my Hurco which has a Helix feature. Only difference than what Rich does is I use a single profile cutter in place of a single point cutter like he does. https://www.mscdire...
