Thanks! I'll have to check as I have 3 versions of the prints (original blueprints, modeltec prints & those that I got from Warren 10 years or so ago). I have been using the "newest" ones. I do know that the original prints had the cylinders 1/4" narrower than they should have bee...

Hey LL, Your post got me thinking about the T-12 I was working on (that went into the storage room once I got the K-36 castings). I pulled the engine out last night and had forgotten how much progess I had made on it. Heck, I'm ready to start working on the valve gear! Looks like I may try to get th...

Hmmm.... I really don't know. I got my set of prints and castings about 9 years ago. Last I talked with Gail, Warren had moved to the Ozarks somewhere and they hadn't kept in touch. Perhaps contact Gail and he may be able to help. The locomotive was serialized in Modeltec back in the 80's. I believe...

Hey Harlock, Think you may be wrong on this. Bill's K was built by Dave Skagen. I bought the castings for my 1.5" K-36 from him a few years back (these castings were produced by the same person who owns PBL). Only reason I even know any of this stuff is that Bill stopped by here to drop off the...

Hey Bill, I've also got the Goldman set for the k-36 & 37 and am about 20% done with my 4 3/4" ga version. It's a fairly good set.... however it is indeed far from complete. There are quite a number of parts for the leading and trailing trucks alone that aren't included. However, drawings f...

Hi Ray,

Nope, Rich has the same thing I do, the book from Apple Blossom. This is essentially a re-print of the series that ran back in the 70's.

Do you happen to have contact info for Reduction??

Thanks Fellas,

I'd really like to build the 4" scale engine if I could ever find the castings. 3" scale would probably work, though. Just looking for something to play with off the rails.

Sent you a PM, Rich.

Sent you an email through your website, Ernie.

Reduction Engineering??

Does anyone know what happened to the 4" scale Case 65 castings that were carried by Reduction Engineering at some point in the past? I'm wanting to find a set for a "someday" project.

Here's the poop on the wheels. I believe the trucks are either Nelson Gray or 1" RR Supply. The wheels are indeed die cast aluminum and are pressed onto steel axles. My understanding is that the wheels are slowly coming off the axles. We've had a few trucks at our RR fail this way. A bit of ret...

Here's a pic of the 4-4-0 Joel is working on. Joel has also built a number of streamliner cars from the Iron Pony and a 1" LE Pacific and Atlantic.
