Re: For those wanting Climax gears....

I have always heard that moles eat cut-worms, which eat the roots of the grass. If your neighber were to spread the proper chemical to kill the cut-worms, the moles will go elsewhere for food. Mike

? on a Thermal Arc 130S Tig Welder

I am considering a Thermal Arc 130-S TIG welder. It is used, and appears to be in good shape. This would my first TIG machine. I have a A/C stick welder. Since I took welding class at a local school, i have wanted to get a TIG. It has the fewest controls I have ever seen on a TIG. Why? Are these a g...

Re: Direct Drive Air Compressors - Noise Levels

Matt, Consumer Reports agrees with your thoughts on extended warenties. I remember reading a few years ago where they said that extended warenties were in most cases a waste of money, and that companies make far more profit from them than the products. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/blush.gif"%20al...

Re: Pipe for Use in Air Delivery

FYI, Any time you put copper near concrete you need to isolate it from the concrete, even if you pour the concrete after you lay the pipe. There is a chemical reaction between the concrete and the copper that will eat holes in the copper. A number of houses in this area had to have their plumbing re...

Just a thought. This eliptocline engine is very simular to the compressors used in automotive air conditioning.

Re: Single Cylinder Linear Engine

I'll take a stab at it. The only engine like this that I know of is a Paslode Nail Gun. No compressed air supply like normal nail guns. It uses gas and a battery for spark, to fire the single cylinder linear engine to push the nail.

They sure beat draging a hose arround all day!

Re: Moist and leakey basement wall. How to fix??

There is a product at most home centers like Lowe's or Home Depot called DryLok. It is specificly for this problem. It is a paint-like substance. I have not used it (no basment), but I hear it works great.

I hope this helps.

Re: Newbie Question on Articulated Locomotives

Thanks all for the very informitive and detailed answers. I can see that as shown by Bruce's and Roger's answers, the old saying "There is more than one way to skin a cat" is very true.

Wow! They did some wonderfull enginering!

THanks again.

Newbie Question on Articulated Locomotives

I have couple of questions regarding articulated locomotives like the allagany's (sp?) and big boys. How did they pipe the steam to and exhaust from the cylinders on the articulated frame? How did they make the articulated frame support the front of the engine and allow it move left/right and up/dow...

I hope this helps. My 5' bed SB13 weighs 1800#. So, is probably a couple hundred pounds more than that.
