Re: Endmill storage/shipping sleeves

The plant I used to work in threw out a drum full of all sizes and kinds every month or two. If there are any CNC machining companies in your area you might try and see if they will let you scrounge through what they have. They may not all be clear or the same size but it sure beats buying.

While poking around I did find a company selling the files until the stock is gone. Might be of some use t...

First thing that came to my mind, took a while to find  , was a guide post for bandsaw blade guides.

Re: lathe mystery

I'll take a wag at it.

It resembles some of the ornamental turning apparatus for decorating although I think this could have been for watchmakers. The round grooved pulleys on the top resembling a cutting frame, belt driven by an overhead motor. Happy to be proven wrong.

Re: Rotary Table Setup Help Needed

Bore a hole into a block you can clamp to the table. Thread a hole or two perpendicular to the hole for setscrews or bolts. Drop the bar into the block and centre them on the rotary table.

Re: Newbie getting in over my head?

Rather than make a new stand nail together a platform of boards. Three or four 1" or 2" thick pieces laying on the floor out from the lathe with 1" boards across, 1" gaps between them. Don't paint them for better traction. It will raise you and be more comfortable to stand on for...

Ordinarily I don't like videos but yours featuring the reel is perfect. So is the reel. I assume it is just for showing off and promotion but does it actually work as fly reel too?

What would it take to move the press up to the grill? Then you can use the dry ice and the heat.

Re: Newbie getting in over my head?

Experienced the 5S program. Boeing did it and then made all suppliers do it. Japan had been doing if for decades before especially in their automotive industries. Works well in a high volume production environment where families of parts are made and production can be changed over quickly to suit th...
