Re: Drive Wheels - Order of Operations?
With my limited amount of machining wheels, but listening to many others, I would follow super7B method as he described and I would say it is far the most common method I hear over and over again.

Re: 1.5" scale vs 2.5" scale - which do you like and why?
2.5" on 7.25 gauge is very popular in Australia, especially for high traffic public hauling.. But it comes with some fairly decent axle loadings, which is'nt too much of a bother as predominantly everyone runs steel rail over here. It seems to me that aluminum is very popular in the US, how wou...

Good to hear John, We have an existing member who has been running a loco for sometime this way, a few others I have spoke with also along the way doing similar setups. Re: question- 3 axle truck, DC motor drive
Thanks for some feedback, I will have to consider that final gearing, starting to hear more and more that about 8:1 is about right. I also want to keep the motors down low, with in the bogie/truck, as to keep enough room up top for the power units, hence not enough room for a motor per axle And with...

question- 3 axle truck, DC motor drive
G'day all, Was after any thoughts on if there are any advantages or disadvantage in how electric motors are connected for final drive to the axles, regarding independent or driving a common lay shaft/axle, for example Based on Co-Co design (3 axle trucks), 2 x 24v 500w motors per bogie/truck, gear r...

Well Trainman, what can I say, you have proved again that the man from the street, gets ups and does what he saids, while the engineer tries over to Analise and generally gets its wrong...mind you they make so many mistakes, they are bound to get it right someday...... I'm not sure if I should post ...

Re: A "True" IC-Electric...?
AusDan: thanks for the clarification. So they're just artificially scaling standard gauge. In NZ it's all meter gauge stuff, but all of the full scale meter gauge steam locomotives I saw in NZ are small, they look like Disneyland Railroad 5/8ths scale, standard gauge scaled to narrow gauge almost. ...
