Re: Slide duplicator / digitizer
I have a similar problem. The older Nikon would be ideal but discontinued and are not so compatible with modern computers. I am still looking for a solution but not very hard. e-bay is probably best place for a used / rebuilt one. There are a couple people who make a business of this.

Re: Looking for suggestions for a respirator
You want to really get worried about welding byproducts, read up on phosgene gas. That can make for a very bad day, and applies to all welding processes, particularly electric arc. Not even getting it completely dry before welding is safe. Thanks for the reminder.... I had forgotten about that dead...

So glad you are recovering. Most any decent N95 particulate filter will take out most of the metal fume (condensed micro droplets of metal) and smoke / ash https://www.amazon.com/3M-8210PPB1-Particulate-Respirator-20-Pack/dp/B002AUVWSC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1524233012&sr=8-3&keywords=di...

Re: Welding, eyes and sight
I am an old fart who just got cataracts removed from both eyes. As a farm boy I did some dumb welding stunts with that old red tombstone. Yep, just turn your head so the light doesn't get too bright and look through your eyelids! Then there were the summers life-guarding without hat or sun glasses. ...

Thank you Harold.
We got a lot off topic yesterday. On many social forums it would have gotten simply nasty. Appreciate that the posts here were mostly gentlemanly but you were right to lock it up.

What's it going to be? Should I lock this one? Opinions are welcome. Keep them polite. H I believe we all know we are "on the edge" / "over the edge" of acceptability in several posts here. Your comment above should be warning enough. I would leave it alone as long as we can kee...
