Re: More home movies 1970's Clint Ensworth, etc

At the Ensworth's track can also be seen Fritz Birkheimer and his LE 0-6-0, Joe Whittaker and his B&O USRA Light Mike (Wayne Godshall currently has this engine) and the very last image appears to be Clint's own 4-6-4 Hudson. I think that is the Bleil's Atlantic before it was painted blue. I don'...

Re: More home movies 1970's Clint Ensworth, etc

Looking forward to watching this video. I got to visit Bob a couple years before he passed away in Erie. His track was still in place around the house and crossed the driveway and sidewalk and had 25' radius curves. Sadly he donated his Mikado and cars to the museum in Northeast and they have no int...

Re: PVLS 1973 or 4, short movie

Great movies, there, Paul! In the 2nd video is an interesting and unknown 1-1/2" scale Hudson at PVLS as well as a black Pacific, 7-1/4" gauge, number 6870 as I recall, that the Metcalf family had bought some 30+ years ago and had in Ashtabula. I had heard that someone supposedly was worki...

Re: 1" Scale UP Northern and Other Locomotives

If I can get the photos off my phone, I can post some pics I took of some of Howard's work that is indeed on display at CRRM. I saw them this summer. I believe the 844 and the Big Boy are on display there as well as a D&RGW 4-6-6-4. Very nice work but build largely out of wood and plastic. Stati...

Chan Bleil and his 2 truck Shay are seen quite a few times as well.

I've only seen some prints in photo albums at the club. You wouldn't want to see it in its present condition.

Re: Timken 1111 (four aces)

Rob,

I don't recall hearing about the derailing issue but Howard does have it, last I knew. Got to see it once when I first moved to MA. I think he has put the new tires on the drivers but got into replacing the side rods and hasn't proceeded past that point.

Re: Timken 1111 (four aces)

The 1-1/2" scale model of the Four Aces that Sandy Jenkins had was built by Webb Donald who lived in Canton, OH. It really didn't follow the exact dimensions and proportions of the prototype Four Aces and allegedly used some LE Old Northern castings. It's a very nice engine and a great performe...

Re: Curious about a few live steam locomotives

I'll probably start a separate thread on this one, but I have a 1" scale D&RGW M-64 class 4-8-4 that was built by Jerry Cutshall, one time master machinist for the D&RGW in their Burnham Shops in Denver, CO. Great little engine. Bronze cylinder castings. I believe he made patterns for a...

I'm also curious what happened to the patterns that Lee used to make his castings?
