Interesting video.....all the replys here say the extra thickness goes on the outside face of the wheel......the video shows it on the inside face, and decreasing the back to back dimension ?

Ok, here's my question.....with blind drivers, the wheel is normally made thicker, so in curves, it won't drop off of the rail ......so which side of the wheel is the extra thickness added too ??.....if it's on the inside, the back to back dimension would be closer together, would it not ?....but si...

I don't use Teflon tape on anything ...only paste......the same thing can happen with your back head piping. I've seen it happen more than once, a sliver of tape comes loose and plugs up your injector cones.

Well, if it won't close . How do you get it to build pressure to begin with ?....looking at the picture, I see Teflon tape....I would imagine you got some up in the valve. My dad was bad about that, always wrapped pipe threads with enough tape, you'd think he was wrapping a mummy. ....seen it happen...

I had nothing but trouble with those valves....the o ring kept coming apart and plugging up the injector cones....sent them back, to mercer ..had them looked at ...said they were fixed ...put them back on, hour later injector cones are plugged up with rubber again.....took them, off and gave them away

Paint question

The final color I want for my covered hopper is the Rust-Oleum red oxide primer....is there any reason, ....other than, so I can see what I'm doing.....I can't put on a coat of Rust-Oleum grey primer, then the red oxide on top of that as the finish color ?....I've noticed there primers are a little ...

There was a place in Ohio, I got dished and flanged tank car ends ...10 and 12'inch diameter?....now for the life of Me, I can't think of their name ?....anybody out there have there name or website ?....

I have always used clecos on my projects....built tenders, tank cars and boxcars with them....they're easy to use and cheap....buy yourself a bag of a 100 of them, and you'll wonder how you ever got along without them....

I really don't think this is critical, as there just admittance to the cylinder, and connect with the exhaust port on the exhaust stroke. As long as the stroke of the piston does not completely cover them.
