Re: Turbulators on propane boiler
Sorry to get off the subject, but is the tube coil in the fire box a superheater? Also when using this type of tubulator does the blower need to be increased compared to using a twisted flat design?

16240345349088823762138221787691.jpg Starting to attach the wrapper over the body. I used some steam gasket material for insulation if it helps. I made a fixture with 2 vee grooves spaced the same distance apart as the cover holes on the sides. Then I used 2 gauge pins that fit the id of the tapped...

Re: Elesco feed water heater
Today I did some silver soldering to add the exhaust fittings from the cylinders and a boss from appliances (air pumps, feed water pump).

16231745433117395866468758216585.jpg Ok finished making the feet to the body yesterday. I am debating to silver solder them on or just leave them to be screwed on. I don't know how to get around them with the wrapper if I solder them. On the prototype they cut rectangular openings, but were they lo...

Re: Elesco feed water heater
16226545135752374090384228951980.jpg And this. My feed water heater had an unique feature. The 2 hex's on top were a venting system that would tie in to each other and feed to a pipe up to the front of the smoke stack. The hex is attached to a pipe that runs down about a 1/3 of the way into the hea...

Re: Elesco feed water heater
Thank you Bill for the compliments I really do appreciate that. Well I spent the last 2 weeks trying to decide what the top of the Elesco feed water heater should look like and I came up with this.

16216146539655608286059181592020.jpg Starting to drill the holes in the body from the exhaust. Tricky part when starting a hole on a curved surface. I first started off with a 1/4 ball end mill and go down until I can use a spot drill. Then use a drill to go through. Next I'll use a 1/2 endmill, th...

Re: Elesco feed water heater
Finally finished up the end cap. This cap looks closer to the prototype than the print, which was more square ended.

Re: Wire EDM Question
I wired a link and block both out of harden steel for an Allen ten wheeler. A little smaller than yours, they mated fantastic. My friend that I gave them to loved them so much never put them on just enjoyed the sliding fit. Machine the block square and do all the mill work first then send it out to ...
