step colletd

Was looking at some used step collets with not much left on them. Can you renew them by facing them flat, silver-soldering a steel (or brass) disk to the face and then using a slitting saw to put in the slots? You'd have to make sure that when soldering that you have the collet closed up to the same...

I have a Cameron drill - it will do 30,000 rpm and has the most sensitive feed of any tool I own.

Re: Drilling holes in brass, should I pilot hole?

Here is an image of a twist drill dulled for cutting brass/copper alloys. One note of caution. When the lip is honed, one should take care to NOT create a negative rake, or to create a radius. The objective is to reduce rake, with the desired angle to be 0°, with the lip dead sharp, not rounded. Pr...

Re: WTB Rockwell vertical milling machine

Decided to start looking for one so please let me know if you have one for sale or know of one for sale. I’m located in Greensboro NC You might want to specify where you are. I'm looking too, and I've found some that were too far away, but might be close to you. If you put your location in your pro...

You stick them on.

Just have to figure what magnification to get to go on another magnification.

Re: Bifocal safety glasses

I contacted one company someone recommended and they quoted me $500. FOR JUST THE LENSES. Went to a local eyeglass store and they can make them in polycarbonate for impact resistance and it's less than that including the frames. My insurance will pay for some of it; I just don't want them getting a ...
