Could you post a photo of the tool as if in use? I take a lot of pictures of trains but don't know all that much about them so I don't visualize how the rerailer would be used. Other than, duh, to get the locomotive back on the tracks.

All in all it was great weekend. Thursday evening to the NEMES meeting in Waltham, Friday afternoon at PVLS, Saturday over to Kent CT for the CT Antique Machinery Assn. Spring Power Up and from there to an evening event in Fishkill NY then Sunday up to Dunstable for that engine show. Put about 700 m...

I was able to get up to PVLS on Friday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday were previously spoken for.

Another, if expensive, method would be to rough out the thread on the lathe and finish with an appropiate die. Yes, the die would be spendy but you only have to buy it once.
