Re: Mitutoyo Digital Caliper
After dead batteries and one that require constant zero (it comes to life with 0.439) I switched to vernier type. I made a living in electronic but I am not a fan of commercial electronic.

Re: Resurface Motorcycle clutch Basket?
I was going to suggest, forget all that precision indexing. Eyeball the surface to machine parallel to the end mill cutting edge. Re: Thread Locker shelf life
Loctite is anaerobic so I suspect the scarcity of oxygen is a factor in polymerizing. A manufacture has to state the life of a chemical conservatively. Research was made on prescription drugs and found that most are chemically stable much longer than the expiration date. So is food, taken with commo...

Re: The price of steel
Maybe, but the 1, 2 HP pump motor shaft I cut from the rotor cut like 10L14I'll bet those are pretty high-grade steel.

I had good finds on E-bay Amazon and now McMaster sells shorter pieces than use to do and are competitive.

Re: Best cutoff tool profile?
The junk cutoff blades were Grizzly import tooling. I bought my lathe and mill from Grizzly and had no complains about quality or customer service. On the other hand, cutting tools are garbage. Not just Grizzly, all the importers get the same cheesium alloy. I learned to stay away from Chinese cutt...
