Re: Minimum radius

What is the recommended clearance on each side of the track? Would a 3 foot wide right of way be enough.

Blow down valve

Looking for something to use as a blowdown valve. Most of the commercial ones I see are too modern for my engine. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Non-steam lubrication

I know about using steam oil for the cylinders and such but what do you use for things like rod bearings and motion parts?
Anything special or just motor oil? Thanks

Real trains arch bar trucks

Did anyone take over production of Real Trains arch bar trucks?
I like the fact that they furnace braised the parts together.
Thanks

Air compressor and propane tank

I’m thinking of building a box car to hold a propane tank (with a mesh floor for venting). I wanted to install a small air compressor and tank for air brakes and wondered if I separated the two compartments in the car and made sure the part with the air compressor portion was sealed off from the pro...

Wood boxcar

Has anyone ever done a construction article for any of the hobby magazines for building a wood boxcar? Looking for plans for something from the 19th century to hold a propane tank.
I have seen some great cars on line but would like to find a set of plans
Thanks
