Re: Info on Little Engines smoke box piping
Don, Here's a picture of a throttle just like mine in my LE Modern Mogul, which is very similar to your 0-4-0. I don't know who made it, or where it came from, and I wouldn't even recommend it for anybody burning oil or coal, as it obviously gets in the way of poking the tubes but, for (us) forklift...

Re: I need patterns made for a small ductile iron parts.
Hello Darrel, I know it's been a while since you posted this, and I've never made a pattern in my life, but I've done a lot of woodbutchery in my days, and intend to make patterns for my own wants, to cast in my home shop, and I'm curious to see a sketch or plan of what it is you want to do...even i...

Gildford, Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome aboard! A friend of mine has an LE 0-4-0, and it's a neat little locomotive. It looks an awful lot like a shortened version of my LE Modern Mogul, and I always like to see them side by side. Here are a few groups you might want to check out, es...

And, while we're on the subject, I'm sick and tired of cliches, and I'm bound and determined to stop using them, so help me God! (Just thought I'd toss a little humor in...the above statement is pretty much all cliches) I totally agree with the intention of this thread...thank you! Mark in Modesto O...

STEAM POWERED AIRPLANE VIDEO AND DESCRIPTION...IT WORKED!
Friends, The subject of steam powered airplanes came up on another thread (Propane and spuds), so I posted these links but, after thinking about it for a minute, I thought the rest of you might get a kick out of this. Re: what is maximum curve in degrees? NOW FROG NUMBER
Rick asked what frog numbers mean. Several answers later, here's a simple way to tell: From the frog point, measure down the rail until the two diverging rails are one foot apart.
