Re: plumbing question, why aint she drainin'?

Thats an interesting problem. I think if the outlet of the line is higher than the air source, even if its under the coolant level it should work. air expanding as it rises even slightly would keep pushing the coolant. Maybe putting the T a bit above the bottom horizontal line on the pipe to the tan...

Re: plumbing question, why aint she drainin'?

Put a T in the return line at the bottom of the - tank end stand pipe, then hook up a fish tank air pump to that T. This would create a miniature air lift siphon to pump the fluid up and into the tank.

Re: high pressure air compressor 3500 psi

Haskell makes air powered intensifiers for both air and hydraulic apps. Our scuba place used a haskell pump for mixing gasses at high pressures. www.haskel.com

Re: BP X-axis question

I second Harolds warning/ plea to not use gasoline. there are plety of good cleaning solvenst that dont have the same risks or toxicity. I like laquer thinner for a final cleand and dry. Kerosene is pretty good and still works in the lamps after its dirty.

Re: BP X-axis question

The big screw should turn right out, there is no gib etc in the yoke. Possibly that screw is bent, the head will be noticeably 'off axis'. If the head breaks off, the threaded portion will probably unscrew with the help of an ice pick or small punch. The original looseness may well be from the threa...

Re: I need a section of railroad track milled flat in NJ

Just heat the piece up and hammer the top flat. While you're at it, hammer the horn out. Takes a while to heat that much but it doesnt cool off to fast either

Re: Optical Train Spacer

Thanks Bill. No it is not a sealed unit, I could send it to you to have that taken care of anyway. I was hoping you may have had more experience with lenses etc. I have heard of lenses getting the "crud" but don't remember hearing of a cure for it. Laquer thinner taking off the coatings? A...

Re: Optical Train Spacer

Bill, I'll take a shot at a hijack then. My David White transit eyepiece has fogged up. The inner lense on the focusing section has fogged and will not clean off with lense cleaner and paper like a normal camera lens cleaning would do. Time to find a new lens? Or is there a way to save this relic? I...

Re: GMC Sierra antilock brakes Help please

Thats the problem. two of the lines broke and are not in close enough proximity to their ends to be able to trace them. One of them is the other line from the master cyl, one is from the front. I can pipe things with enough of an offset so if they need to be crossed, I have the room.

Re: GMC Sierra antilock brakes Help please

Thank you. That sounds like it is what i have on this truck. The three port row is on top on this one , one of the ports does go to the left front and one port goes to the rear axle. The other would most likely goe to the right front. The two port row has one line from the master cylinder.

GMC Sierra antilock brakes Help please

I have a 99/2000 Sierra 2500 that needs all the brake lines replaced. Rust is winning the battle. Two of the lines have broken while fixing another so I decided to do all of them on the truck. The two that broke , I was not able to trace out the lines as to where they should go. Can anyone help with...

Re: What is Runout?

Yes you have .004 to .005 TIR runout. The error to tru center of the chuck jaws is .002 to .0025 Does this chuck have a 'tru center' adjustment? There would be 4 screws on the OD of the chuck that can be used to push the chuck around relative to the spindle/table mount to improve on the error you ar...
