To pre-order or not to pre-order, that is the question

Hi everyone, Looking to the future, I'm second guessing whether or not offering pre-orders is the best thing for Eccentric Engineer. I started offering pre-ordering for a few reasons. It's extremely helpful toward getting products made, and it makes my life much easier when the products are finished...

Re: Next batch of EE Injectors

Standard injectors are on the shelf, but not forever! I have both versions: the EE standard and the SuperScale compatible version. I will bring whatever is left to the Train Mountain triennial. With this batch I’ve made just over 500 standard injectors. With all the other sizes and scale Nathan inje...

Re: 2022 Train Mountain Triennial - Vendors

Eccentric Engineer will be there. Should have standard and intermediate injectors available as well as a few Nathan 1918A injectors. At this rate the small injectors will be sold out before then and I don't think I will be able to restock in time. Large injectors are a big maybe at this point. Anthony

Re: Next batch of EE Injectors

Current status of the EE Injectors: The Large injectors are currently in production and are now available for pre-order! It's not required but strongly recommended to ensure you get one. Customers that pre-pay take priority. https://www.eccentricengineer.com/injectors/large-injector Standard injecto...

Re: How to make sure your injector will always work

What's the best way to blow air thru the injector, and dry the water out?.....the overflow pipe??? The best way (if possible), is to blow air through the steam line with the water line disconnected. This will dry out the inside of the injector without risking sucking in more moister from the water ...

How to make sure your injector will always work

From my observations over the years: The single most important part of an injector installation is the section between the injector and the tender water valve. It has to be simple and absolutely air tight with the least amount of joints or fittings possible. If this section is not well done it will ...

Re: Copper refrigerator line on steam engine

The thin wall copper will work fine, but it is very susceptible to forming kinks when bending and it can't be threaded. Thick wall copper tubing is harder to kink, but it's also a little harder to bend. Nothing a good annealing won't take care of. I would not recommend compression fittings for injec...

Re: 2022 Standard Injector Update

An update since last time. The previously pictured castings were not as pretty internally as they looked on the outside. I sent a few waxes to a different foundry that has a slightly different process and that seemed to be the ticket. The latest samples look beautiful inside and out, even under the ...

New email address for Eccentric Engineer

Hi everyone, From now on I will be using anthony@EccentricEngineer.com as my primary contact. Please remember it's "engineer" not "engineering" :D To make this happen I had to transfer ownership of the domain to myself (it was previously owned by my parent's company), so my websi...

Going to do more starter valves?

Thanks!
Will eventually make more starter valves. Haven't decided where to put them in the production schedule though.

Re: Next batch of EE Injectors

still planning on making 1.6 scale safety valves this year? That's the current plan. Whether or not they'll actually be completed this year is an unknown variable. My priorities once all the EE injectors are finished are 2.5/1.6" safeties and 1.6/1" Simplex injectors. I think I can manage...

Re: 2022 Standard Injector Update

Today I picked up the latest test pour. After a lot of experimentation with gating and alloys I think we found what works. The testing was all done with the new cored waxes. I have to machine them to be 100% sure that they’re good, but they’re looking very promising. Anthony 9032D70F-500E-48B9-AEE9-...
