Re: Boiler Testing

Just to share some experience. Since about 1986 I have had to have boilers inspected by state inspectors (2 different states) every year. I was also in the live steam locomotive hobby for about 30 years, being the "boiler inspector" for 2 clubs for about 1/2 that time. My observations for ...

Jeff

Thanks for the pictures, I had hoped the flues would be 1/2"

Let us know if you get it running on air. A hydro would be nice but
if you do it, do not exceed the operating pressure.

Zinc casting repair

Hi

Anyone have any experience soldering / repairing a zinc based casting. I need to repair
a small item. The broken cross section is about 3/32 x 1/8. It fits together nicely.

I need to find an alloy and flux that will work.

Thanks

Re: Drill Sharpeners

Here are some pictures, they show the machine with the small chuck cutting one side then flip it and cut the other, the large chuck with its table and wheel, the small chuck with a bit in it real simple to load, and a shot of the angle set. Re: Drill Sharpeners

Hi I have had some experience with both a Darex which I have had for about 18 years and a drill doctor which I got for a present two years ago and sold it about 6 months later. First the drill doctor was fine if you got the hang of it, but any little twitch in using it or push a little harder one wa...

Re: Ohlenkamp Injector Parts

I have used the parts made by Howard to repair several Ohlenkamp injectors. I have 4 of them and purchased steam cones and delivery cones. Tried them in all the injectors just to see how they worked and not one failed. I use the injector on a 1/4 scale traction engine so it was easy to swap out inje...
