It should be stiff for side to side testing.. Any wobble is wear My 50 yr old unit has no perceptible side to side movement on the arbor When pushed by hand I have seen 1/4 to 1/2" side to side on some right angle heads and as I mentioned, they were noisy and to me not acceptable. Dealing with ...
