This will help with the stamping, which is really a drawing function. Most likely you will be using 6061 Aluminum. You want to anneal the aluminum before doing the press work. 6061 has a temper of T 6 and you want T1 Mark the sheet with black magic marker do a zigzag over the entire sheet Then heat ...

I spent hours trying to solder copper to brass and brass to brass this past weekend. I finally got results using a propane torch and a liquid flux, and resorting to my wife's stained glass solder. Yes, stay with the flat belt if you can.
The next best change is a multi-groove belt like they use on car alternator belts
A V belt is the last choice
