Working with brass - tools
Re: Working with brass - tools
I have done a lot of brass work with a tablesaw and a negtive hook blade for cutting non-ferrous metal. Cuts nice and leaves a decent finish. I've even done some pattern trimming with the router. Light cuts are very controllable. I put a cloth shroud over the intake of the router as the brass dust is conductive. Thin stuff on the tablesaw is best cut with a piece of particle board for support. I've cut 2" thick stock by starting with shallow cuts and progressively raising the blade. You can tell I come from a woodworking background.
