When I going to central trade school in 1944 there was a natural gas furnace that looked like a blower going into a box shaped stack of fire bricks .It was used for heat treating & forging. I would like to build one .Has anyone had any like ideas?

Here are some picture of a, propane fired, firebrick forge I built last winter. No blower needed on this type of burner. I made the burner from 3/4", 1",and 2" pipe. It uses a .030 MIG welding tip for the orfice. The wing bolt on the side is an air coke to ajust fuel/air mixture. As you can see plenty of heat to forge or heat treat.

Here is a website that will show you how to build this type forge.

Have fun playing with this one!!!
