Attatchment types

What file types are allowed as attachments?
Specifically, I am interested in posting a word doc, but we might want to have a list of all the valid types.
Not sure, but I thought I remembered the old board specifically listing the file types that were allowed.
Also, is that list the same for the board as it is for private messages?
