Very impressive Glenn! Please, you have to post a short video of you doing a low pass toward the camera!

I was at Sikorsky Airport when they had a 27-cylinder radial engine on a test stand and fired it up.BigDumbDinosaur wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 12:00 am I'm partial to a low pass with a Pratt R2800 at full power, bolted to the front of a Corsair or Thunderbolt. The Merlin sounds like a big Chevy Stovebolt Six. The Pratt snarls and rumbles.
WOW.
One day, I heard a really odd sound. It sounded like one of the old airplanes at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome.
Went outside to see a biplane with a radial engine flying over my house. The pilot was "Captain Traffic", Mogan Kaolean, a local news reporter who was the first airborne traffic reporter in the state flying 1929 a biplane that was only a year younger than he was.

Glenn,
Do you do the shot peening in your shop? If so, would you please describe the process?
Thanks!

Re: Amazing machine work
No, I send it out.
It is a CNC/Robotic process specific to these rods so the entire part has exact, perfect coverage.

Re: Amazing machine work
Just do this five more times tomorrow and the crankshaft will be assembled.
The crankshaft is brown due to the preservative I have on it. The journals get cleaned off as it gets assembled.
