Hi All;
Finally did a test run on my CNC; 12 x 18; 3 axis; bench mounted mill/drill. The control board is Xylotex and controls all 3 axis. I’m using TurboCNC sotfware. My laptop connects to the Xylotex board through the printer port. The stepper motors are 253 oz./in 2.3 amps Pacific Scientific Power MAX II.
All 3 axis of the machine itself runs on Pacific or Thompson linear bearings. The feed screw is ½-20 threaded rod. Ball screws will be next. Have yet to make chips. Just learning how to program for now.
The control box is on my work bench and contains a 24-v and 5-v power supply and Xylotex board. Still need to install cooling fans. The box became hot just in stand by mode. Had my engineer friend help me with the TurboCNC software and we were off and running.
