Redos on the Webster Engine

Post by coal miner »

Started on this right after I got the Craftsman lathe . Built a lot of the parts w/ it , and also a lot of extra parts [ scrap] . A good learning experience and taught me a lot about running a lathe . I have since stepped up and have a 14x40 Jet and a G 3616 milling machine . Mistakes were made on several pieces on the engine due to my ignorance and lack of the proper machine to do the job and also the proper sized material for the job .

Well $$$'s and time later decided to get back on it and correct some of my mistakes . The first one was the flywheel that was under sized . It consisted of taking it off the crankshaft , where it was roll pinned thru the shaft with in turn synched w/ the exhaust cam gear via 2 to 1 gearing .

Also while I had everything apart did some polishing up on it .
Shot of the gears meshing .

Made a new piston w/ new wrist pin , those are 4-40 shs holding the pin.

Post some more pics later if you want ,working on the fuel tank and mounting it .
