Vise stop for the new Kurt vise

Post by coal miner »

I am really proud of my new Kurt vise . A quality piece , for sure. After mounting it , I trammed it in w/ a new E-bay B & S Best Test test indicator . It checked on all planes perfect . Have wanted to make a stop for the vise on the mill for a long time. Finally got all my mise en place together and got it assembled . 3/ 4 rod bolted to the vise , 3. 875 " centers , used steel blocks on the ends with 1/2 " drill steel cross slide and 3/8 " drill steel to locate the part w/ a second hole to use for deeper jaw settings . The 2 larger rods had .250 key slots cut to orient the stop in position. Made some brass thumb screws 1/4 - 28 to to tighten on the rods . Drilled some scrap using it and it works great .
