This is part of a larger project, and I snapped a photo because they look so nice... These were designed and machined this weekend.

I agree---they do like nice. Brings back fond memories of my years of building tooling.
Well done

Nice blocks.
Can you tell this newbee the parameters you used to make the saw slits? I want to slit a couple of everyday steel spacers that require 1+ inch depth of cut and a few inches of length and have never used a saw slitter in my life.
kind of saw?
saw diameter?
# of teeth?
rate of feed and depth of cut per pass?
lots of lubricant?
thanks, Dave

Hi Dave,
I'm a newbie too!
These cuts were 1" + and I very carefully used my bandsaw for the job. I spurted a bit of wd40 on it, and let the weight of the saw determine the cut rate. At the end of the cut, I was very careful not to let the saw cut the inside of my 3/4" reamed holes.
Hope this helps!
Hank
