Bits

Post by Russ Hanscom »

It was 7F outside this morning, and a high of 28, so I do not feel guilty about a little shop time. One of the multiple ongoing projects is making parts for a B&S tool and cutter grinder. It is missing most of the attachments so I am going through the manual sort of copying pictures of things. The little arms that hold a diamond for wheel truing need three thunb screws - here they are. The actual head dia is 3/4". Made from mystery steel, the knurls turned out nice but there is slight tearing on the flat surfaces.

Hi Russ,

They came out nice. Not sure from the photo, but they seem to be darkened. If so, what process did you use?

They really are normal shiney steel - blame a poor camera operator for the finish color!
