Antique tractor radiator

I do quite a bit of work for a local radiator shop. One of their customers restores antique farm tractors. This one needed to be completely recreated as it was rotted beyond repair. I fabricated the new top and bottom tanks and side brackets, the radiator shop has the core built as needed and does the final assembly, testing. It is all put together with lead/tin solder.
Too bad the end customer elected not to spend extra for the embossed lettering on the front of the top tank. To me that was a cool feature.

Good copy of a once state of the art piece.

If it were me, I would put 2 studs on the face, and cut all the lettering on the front panel, to trim it down to a front aplique that simply is a false front to the tank top. Well painted for the lettering detail, it would surely POP on the job.

Just a thought. Nice picky work. Thanks for posting the pic.

I agree the letter embossing would have added greatly. Also, IMHO, reproducing the tank in brass could have added a bit of class.

It's a fine job you did Metalman
