WTB: Alco Type E Power Reverse
Looking to buy a 1.5" scale ALCO type "E" power reverse in working or nonworking condition. Would also consider a type "H" and type "G" as well.
Re: WTB: Alco Type E Power Reverse
Wish I would’ve noticed this sooner. Give a call to David, great guy and quality castings.

Yes the one I have installed is non working it is fine just leave the seals off the piston or similar
Re: WTB: Alco Type E Power Reverse
how do you attach it to the stand in the cab? I've seen a dummy ( not as detailed as Moore'scastings) where the piston rod was extended out the back of body, then run to cab

Re: WTB: Alco Type E Power Reverse
Wouldn’t the piston rod be attached to the valve links?
It’s steam operated, right? The 940 has a butterfly handle in the cab marked FWD REV.
I’ll see if I can find a pic or two.

A picture is worth a thousand words - is that the saying .
You make a double ended linkage and a forward / rev lever in the cab if I understand what you are asking

Re: WTB: Alco Type E Power Reverse
Hi Chris!
Yours is interesting. I’ve seen the unit mounted further back towards the cab, with the linkage from the reverse lever coming in one end to the top of the cylinder, probably connected to a shuttle type valve? The cross head and piston rod connect to the valve linkage. Perhaps yours is designed this way as it is non- functional?
Moderators. Maybe we need to take this portion of our program off the For Sale page?

Original discussion is about a dummy setup.
